Since childhood, Dumont has been drawn to long summer days at the beach. Shimmering water, chasing crabs and other small creatures, and jumping in the surf brought joy. Even now, watching children enjoy those same pleasures opens vistas as little else in Dumont’s world. The beaches have expanded from those of childhood in the Northeast to beaches around the world, but the simplicity of sand and surf remains unchanged.
